Notes and Exceptions

 

1. Tug requirements are based on the use of 3000 hp twin screw tugs which are the minimum size tug acceptable in Point Comfort.

2. If the vessel is equipped with an ADEQUATE bow thruster, the pilot may reduce the amount of required tugs, at his discretion.

3. Additional Tugs may be required during periods of adverse weather, shoaling channel or basins, etc.

4. Matagorda Bay Pilots reserve the right to deviate from these requirements should the circumstances of the case require.
